“The way the body works”
Our bodies are truly amazing structures. There’s a quote I've read where it says we’re “fearfully and wonderfully made”. But amazing doesn't necessarily have to mean complicated.
The body is very intricate in its workings…but it’s a the way the body works so remarkably simple. Multiple systems and structures overlap in harmonious function with primary, secondary and even tertiary responsibilities. Each structure senses almost immediately when its neighbor needs help and comes along side in support. Each system is able to function at much less than maximum before it becomes symptomatic. But because of the body’s intricacy and submaximal ability, it becomes more difficult to identify and fix problems. In fact, despite our thousands of years of study, we still are finding things out about the frontier of how our bodies really work. Physical therapists have been trained to better understand how the neuromusculoskeletal system is supposed to work, identify imbalances in that system and design/implement treatments to help restore balance. If you’re feeling a little out of balance, why not stop by the clinic and see if we can lend a hand. The body is a great example of how we should be with each other. Coming along side and helping out. Just like in the body … it’s what families do. |
